The Railroader Baseball and Softball teams are on their way to Pratt today! They will be facing the Pratt-Skyline Thunderbirds in a doubleheader starting at 4:00 PM. The Lady Railers will play at the Green Sports Complex, located at 2007 E 6th St, Pratt. The baseball games will take place at Lemon Park on S Pine St; follow the one-way loop to the North Field - Natural Field.

This past Friday, the Ellis Track and Field team traveled to Osborne. The girls' team finished in 2nd place, while the boys' team finished in 5th. A lot of metals were collected by the team, with 1st place going to Avery Boydston in the 800, 1600, and 3200. Sienna Schmidt in the LJ. Haylee Comer in the Jav. She also placed 3rd in the Shot. Evelyn Merriman came home with two gold medals in the 100 and 200. Tracyn Bollig in the PV.
The girls' 4 x 100 finished 1st (Mackinley, Evelyn, Sienna, and Peyton). 2nd-place medals went to Mackinley in the 200, Trenton in the Javelin, Piper in the PV, Taryn in the 3200, and the boys' 4x800 team (Taylon, Cody, Brayden, and Wyatt). 3rd Place went to Piper in the 200m, Kooper in the PV, Piper in the 200, Mackinley in the 100, Cayson in the 3200, and the boys' 4x100 team (Carson, Trenton, Jacob, and Jack). 4th Place went to Carson in the Javelin and Dora in the Discus. 5th Place went to Dom in the shot, Wyatt in the 800, and Hannah in the shot. Next up for the Railers is Quinter. Great work Railroaders!!

Ellis Music is heading to the KSHSAA State Music Festival for Solos and Small Ensembles today! The competition will take place at Bethel College in Newton. It's prom season and Ellis Jr./Sr. High School was bustling today! Prom decorating was in full swing today instead of Friday due to a school in-service day. The junior class was fortunate to have Ellie, our school dog, overseeing the decorating. Don’t forget to join us for the promenade on Saturday, April 25th, at 6:30 PM. Our students are sure to look fantastic!

The Ellis Junior High Track team is on the road again today for the 13th Annual John Rose Invitational Track Meet in LaCrosse. Field events will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by running events starting at 12:00 noon.

The Ellis Railroader Track team traveled to Plainville to compete yesterday. The girls continued to perform well as a team, finishing 2nd, while the boys stepped it up, scoring their team's highest points, finishing 5th. Individually, Avery Boydston in the 1600 M, Evenlyn Merriman in the 100 M and 200 M, Tracyn Bollig in the PV, and Hayee Comer in the Javelin all finished in 1st place. Carson Schartz in the Javelin, Taryn Boydston in the 400 M and 800 M, and Cayson Boydston in the 3200 M finished 2nd. Two relay teams finished in 2nd place: the girls' 4 x 100 of Rhoden, Merriman, Schmidt, and Burd, and the boys' 4 x 800 of Cox, Dixson, Cullison, and Boydston. Sienna Schmidt finished 3rd in the LJ and 4th in the TJ. Kooper Hankins finished 4th in PV, while Piper McClung came in 5th in PV. Overall, it was a good day for the Railroaders!! The challenge is to strive to get better as we finish the season.

The Ellis High School Class of 2027 is excited to announce that the Junior-Senior Prom will be held on SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2026. This year’s theme is "Grandiose Garden." The formal event will feature a promenade, dinner, dance, and a fun-filled After Prom event at FHSU.

The Ellis community, including parents and grandparents, is invited to the Promenade, which will begin at 6:30 PM. Please use the designated promenade entrance. Our students are sure to look fantastic!

The Ellis High School Track and Field team will travel to Osborne on Friday, April 24th. There is no school that day due to a teacher's in-service. Athletes will meet at the track at 11:45 AM, with dismissal at 12:00. Field events begin at 3:00 PM. 3200 M will start at 4:00 PM. The 4 x 800 M relay will begin at 4:30 PM, followed by the rest of the track events.

Ellis Baseball and Softball will host home games tonight against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs. The Railroader Baseball team will begin with the JV boys at 3:00 PM, followed by the varsity boys.
