Forensics had a big day at their first meet of the season in Norton. All of our team broke finals in each of their events!
Mason Rohleder and Haylee Comer qualified for State, placing 1st in IDA.
Mason also qualified for State individually in Impromptu, placing 2nd.
Kinzie Sunley qualified for State, placing 2nd in Prose.
Emma Dowing qualified for State in both of her events. She placed 1st in Oration and 2nd in Poetry.

Ellis Chess had an outstanding outing today at Concordia. The JH Team won 1st place! The HS Team finished just short of a trophy of their own in 4th. Beckem Jimenez and Henry Brull both finished 5th in their respective categories. Maverick Swagerty finished 7th in the K-8 bracket. Brie Keller, Izzy Fondoble, Graeme Matzke, Brandon Gilbert, Beckett Longbine, and Carter Starns all finishing in the top 15. Maverick, Brie, Izzy, and Graeme have also earned their spots at the State tournament. So proud of all of our players!

Ellis High School is proud of our participants in the FHSU Honor Band! They were nominated by Ellis Band Director Mrs. Renetta Dawson for this opportunity. The students rehearsed all day yesterday at FHSU and performed at the Beach-Schmidt Performing Arts Center that evening. Students from all over the state attended this prestigious event. The Ellis participants were Tayler Schmidt (bass clarinet), Skylynn Begler (clarinet), and Amethyst Moses (clarinet). Congratulations to them!
