Our young Men’s Railer Wrestlers conducted the train in the familiar territory of home in the annual Railer Round Robin. This group of freshmen and a sophomore continue to improve and find success in week 2. All members of the team finished in the Top 6. 144: Kooper Hankins finished big with 3 wins, finishing 6th. 150: Jack Reed looked equally impressive with a 6th place finish. 126: Carter Jimenez found the podium in 4th place. 120: Korbyn Kroeger won 3 matches to put him on the podium in 3rd place. 138: Asher Haag worked his way to the finals, going 4-1 on the day, where he took his only loss to the #1 ranked wrestler in 321-A. A big shoutout to all the tables workers, volunteers, and administration who helped create success in hosting 12 visiting teams in a packed gym. A special shoutout to our lone senior wrestler, who was honored at the tournament, Kia Mader. Thanks for 4 successful years of wrestling. The Junior High Railroaders will begin their MCEL tournament play this weekend!

The JH Boys are the #3 seed and will compete in the third game against the TMP vs. Russell winner. The MCEL Boys' games will take place in Norton.

The JH Girls are the #11 seed and will face Norton in the second game. The MCEL Girls' games will be held in Plainville.

The Ellis High School Wrestling Team will celebrate Senior Night this evening during the 2025 Railer Round Robin Wrestling Tournament at home. We are proud to recognize one of our senior Lady Railer wrestlers, Kia Mader. The recognition ceremony will take place during the break before the finals, approximately between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.

Kia is the daughter of Michael and Mindi Mader. She is an active student involved in various clubs and sports, and she consistently maintains an A-B Honor Roll standing. Recently, she was inducted into the National Honor Society. Currently, Kia is ranked #4 in her weight class statewide for wrestling.

Kia plans to attend Barton Community College, where she intends to major in Nursing and minor in Psychology. Good luck to you, Kia!

KAY proudly recognizes and appreciates all area First Responders, who are invited to attend and will receive free admission to the games. The Ellis High School KAY Club invites parents and the community to the Annual Food Box Auction on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at 10:00 in the Ellis Jr./Sr. High School Auditorium.
