All EHS students are invited to join the Fifth Quarter celebration this Friday, March 27, 2026! They are excited to celebrate spring sports with all Ellis High School freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The event will take place at the Ellis United Methodist Church from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, featuring fun, games, and great food.
They will be serving pizza, with options that include meat and a Lent-friendly cheese. Additionally, there will be door prize drawings, including the chance to win a 32-inch TV! Come and enjoy the final Fifth Quarter of the year!

The Railroader baseball and softball teams are in action this afternoon! We are hosting a jamboree that includes the Colby Eagles and the Larned Indians. This past weekend the Ellis Chess Team competed at the Kansas State Championship Tournament in Emporia.
On Friday, our players competed in the Blitz Championship. Both Carter Starns and Beckett Longbine finished in the top 15 out of 40 in the K-12 division.
Then on Saturday, the team competed in the Rapid Championship, both teams performed well. Henry Brull finished 3.0/6. Carter, Beckett, and Talon Pyle all finished 2.5/6 in K-12. On the K-8 side, Beckem Jimenez, Maverick Swagerty, and Graeme Matzke all finished 3.0/6. Brandon Gilbert and Brie Keller also finished at 2.5/6.
All of our players have worked incredibly hard over this past year. The future is looking very bright for the Chess Team. Can't wait to see how much we can improve going into next year.

It is the last day of Office Aid Appreciation Week! Ellis Jr./Sr. High School would like to express our gratitude for our fantastic senior aides this year. We have been featuring one office aide each day throughout the week.
Today, we highlight Senior Sienna Schmidt. Sienna works in the school office every day during 3rd hour. She is responsible for managing our athletic and event gates, making deposits, and verifying totals. Sienna creates many of our Game Days for both athletics and special events. Additionally, she assists in covering the office by answering the door and the phone. Sienna is fun, always welcoming, and simply a joy to be around. She has been a true asset this year!
