This spring, the composition students will be working on grant writing as part of a service-learning project. We are looking for Ellis organizations that would benefit from grant money. Students would visit with the organizations to determine the needs/scope of the grants, etc. Then, our students would work in groups to write and submit the grants. There is no guarantee these grants would be accepted, but two of our students have spent the last six months learning about grant writing from Sarah Meitner, executive director of the Heartland Community Foundation, so their input and knowledge will be crucial to the process. If your organization would be interested in working with our students for this project, please email Savannah Downing at sdowning@usd388.com.
