Ellis High School STUCO is participating in the American Red Cross high school program. Through participating in this program, we will give students extra community service opportunities that could help save lives! This learning-in-action opportunity will help students develop and recognize their leadership and humanitarian spirit. Through the aforementioned program, our organization has the opportunity to help others, while also helping establish a scholarship fund to benefit engaged students as they move to higher education.
In response to the need for blood in our community and the desire to help our students participate in more community service activities, we are asking for your support and participation in our upcoming blood drive. This event will be held at Ellis High School on Wednesday, November 12, from 8:30am-2:30pm.
By donating blood, you stand out as a positive example for students, other parents, and community members to get involved. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of hospital patients in our area and across the nation. This is a community service that is both easy and rewarding!
To be eligible to donate, you must be healthy, at least 16 years of age, weight at least 110 pounds, not have given blood in the past two months, and have identification (photo ID, donor card, etc.). High school students will need to have a parental consent form signed and completed and must also meet height and weight requirements to donate.
You can schedule an appointment today to donate blood by visiting https:www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=Ellis or contacting Derek Schoenthaler at 785-726-9422 or dschoenthaler@usd388.com. For questions about donor eligibility, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS. On behalf of the Ellis High School STUCO members, thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Derek Schoenthaler
Ellis High School STUCO Sponsor
