The new "spa" relaxation room at WGS! With the closing of Westside School in Hays, we needed a space at Washington Grade School for students to go to relax and refocus. What better place then a spa?? A HUGE THANK YOU to the WIESNER GRANT!!! Without their generous grant, this room would not have been possible. The students love the relaxing fish tank, the fun egg chair swing, and the diffuser which resembles a little fire and makes the room smell so good! I have seen so many smiles and happy students this year! Thank you again, Wiesner grant for ALL you do for our students in Ellis!!!!
If you get a chance, stop by the resource room at WGS and see the room for yourself! The pictures don't do it justice!!!

The fourth graders are learning about energy! They were introduced to what a circuit is, and then were given the opportunity to connect one to light up a light bulb. They all had success! 💡

The fifth graders are learning about the steps of the scientific method. We conducted an experiment about paper airplane designs to practice how to do each step. Our farthest paper airplane went over 21 feet! 🛬

Please come help move mulch at the new playground this morning! We need helpers! 😁
