Sub-State Game Day 2-25-25
Ellis Jr./Sr. High School is proud to recognize another outstanding educator this week: Mrs. Danielle Schmidt! Last week was FFA week, and Mrs. Schmidt works diligently for this amazing organization. FFA’s motto is, “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.” Mrs. Schmidt, her classes, and the FFA organization wholeheartedly embrace this motto. She brings exceptional dedication and commitment to our school in the fields of agriculture and vocational education. Mrs. Schmidt is actively building her program and making a significant impact both inside and outside the classroom. A fun fact about her is that her favorite music groups are Greta Van Fleet and Metallica—this girl knows how to rock! She is also a newlywed; she married her husband, Arik, this past summer. She transitioned from Hausler to Schmidt, and we are lucky that she answers to both names! We are fortunate to have Mrs. Schmidt, who is truly valued in our community and school. We are honored to celebrate her contributions as part of our Railroader family. Thank you, Mrs. Schmidt!

2025 EHS/JH Chess Club Tournament
Railer mens' wrestling stepped on the mat in Hoisington at the 321A D Regional last Saturday, one of 4 regionals held around the state. All of the boys competed like true warriors. While the season came to an end from some, each of them had great accomplishments throughout the year. A special shout out goes to JT Rhoden, our only senior. His season concluded after an illness kept him off the mat the week before competition. He left in true Railer warrior fashion. The future looks bright for Railer wrestling, as the rest of the team is underclassmen. Looking forward to having Austin, Brendan, Colton, Mason, and Cole back next year. The Railers had one finalist and state qualifier, Asher Haag (freshman) at 126#. He had to take a medical forfeit in the championship match due to an injury sustained in the first period. We look forward to Asher join our 3 Lady Railers in the State Championship this Friday and Saturday at Gross Memorial Coliseum at Fort Hays State University. Watch for more Railer Wrestling success! #itsagreatdaytibearailer
