This summer, the Ellis Police Department partnered with local businesses to gather school supplies for our local schools. With the help of our Community Members, we managed to gather around 80 pounds of school supplies! These supplies were then donated to St. Mary's School as well as USD388, who will take care of distributing the supplies to those in need. We are excited to make this a yearly occurrence and look forward to gathering even more next year! Thank you all for helping equip our students for success this year!

This message is to inform you that the implementation of the Random Drug Testing Policy and required drug testing consent form is temporarily suspended by the USD 388 Board of Education. This policy was initially implemented to deter substance abuse and help keep students safe. After concerns about the procedures of the drug testing were raised by district patrons, the USD 388 Board of Education determined further discussions with stakeholders will ensure that procedures are thoroughly and thoughtfully developed. Thank you to those who have raised questions and provided valuable feedback about the policy. We will continue to work together to foster a safe and supportive environment for our students. I apologize for the lack of timely communication regarding this topic. I am committed to improving communication about important issues with district patrons.  Thank you for your continued support. We are excited to share the progress on our high school construction projects and the ongoing improvements at Washington Grade School, both funded by the recent school bond. At the high school, upgrades include a new secure entry to enhance student safety, a remodeled office for improved administrative efficiency, and state-of-the-art science rooms to enrich our educational offerings. At Washington Grade School, significant progress has been made on the electrical upgrades, the installation of a new HVAC system, and the replacement of flooring throughout the building. These enhancements will ensure a safer, more comfortable, and modern learning environment for our students. We appreciate your support and patience as we work to create better facilities and thank you for being an integral part of our school community.
