Ellis Railroader Family, Ellis Railroader Family, Every two years, Kansas High Schools that have fewer than 100 students in grades 9-11, are asked to submit to the Kansas State High Activities Association (KSHSAA), a request to participate in either 8-person or 11-person football. As a school that has fewer than 100 students in those 3 grades, we need to submit our request to KSHSAA this fall, which will dictate the style of football we will play for at least the next two years. Many factors are used to aid in this decision, including, but not limited to, the following: • Student enrollment trends • Average number of students participating in football • Travel requirements • Student Safety • Competitiveness • Alignment between middle school and high school • The ability to field both varsity of sub-varsity teams As we work with our board, administration, football staff, and students to determine our best course of action for the next football cycle, we would also like to get some feedback from our community to assist in our decision making. As such, we have developed a brief survey to collect your thoughts about this decision. If you would like to share your thoughts about this decision, please click on the link below to complete this survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/V3DV72F Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions and thank your for your support of our great district. Respectfully, Janice Wilson Superintendent of Schools
