The junior high wrestling team continued their season with matches at home on Thursday. The team was able to win 17 of the 37 matches wrestled against some very good competition. There were close to 200 matches on the evening. Lyla Richards, Jersee Fabrizius, and Trenton Schartz were able to win all there matches at the event while Piper McClung, Sam Byers, and Baylor Born suffered one lose each. The team then left early Saturday morning to wrestle at the Ted Mertens tournament in Larned. Asher Haag, Trenton Schartz, and Lyla Richards won their weight classes. Colton Metzler lost in the finals and had to settle for the silver medal. Talon Pyle, Westin Vine, and Piper McClung also made the medal stand with Talon and Westin placing 4th while Piper placed 3rd for the bronze. The team will travel to Stockton this week for matches on Thursday and finish the season at Trego on February 16th with the MCEL tournament. The results of this weeks action are as follows:
