Ellis Jr High Girls vs. Stockton

Ellis Jr. High girls basketball team hosted the Stockton Tigers on Nov. 16th.  The game started out sluggish with both teams scoreless at the end of the first quarter and each team only have two points each at the half.  Ellis and Stockton both struggled for the ball to fall into the basket.  After the half, however, Ellis girls started seeing some shots drop with the third quarter score of Ellis 12 and preventing Stockton from scoring in the quarter.  In the final quarter, Ellis added an additional eight points while only allowing Stockton two.  Final score Ellis 20 to Stockton 4.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Gracelynn Hamel with eight points followed by Avery Boydston with six.  Jocelyn Eck had four points and Payten Burd had two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Leah Reed with eight boards, followed by Boydston with seven.  Hamel and Eck each had three and Burd had one.

In the J.V. contest, both Ellis and Stockton had the same struggle with the ball not falling into the basket.  The score at the half was Stockton four to Ellis two.  Ellis came out after the half and scored an additional ten points while only allowing two additional for Stockton.  Final score was Ellis 12 to Stockton 6.

Leading scorer for Ellis J.V. was Taylor Kohl with six points, Sienna Schmidt had four and Kia Mader added two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Mader with 11 boards.  Kohl had six rebounds, Piper McClung had five, Schmidt had four and Maggie Fitzgerald had two.


Ellis Jr High Girls vs Hoxie 

The Ellis Jr. High girls basketball team traveled to the undefeated Hoxie girls team.  Ellis struggled all evening with getting shots to go in, while it appeared that Hoxie couldn’t miss.  Score at the half was Hoxie 34 to Ellis two.  Final score was Hoxie 53 to Ellis eight.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Jocelyn Eck with four points, Payten Burd and Gracelynn Hamel each had two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Hamel with five.  Leah Reed had three boards, Raegan Jiminez and Burd each had two and Eck, Taylor Kohl and Avery Boydston each had one.

In the J.V. contest Ellis struggled tremendously only scoring one basket by Kohl.  Final score was Hoxie 26 to Ellis two.

The only person to score for Ellis was Kohl with two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Kia Mader with eight.  Kohl contributed four boards followed by Tayler Schmidt with three, Piper McClung and Sienna Schmidt each had two and Maggie Fitzgerald had one rebound.
