Ellis Jr. High girls’ basketball hosted the Trego Eagles on Nov. 9th.  The Railer girls kept Trego scoreless in the first quarter of the varsity game and lead at the half nine to four.  Trego was able to keep Ellis from scoring in the third quarter and tied up the game at the end of the third quarter.  Trego ended up with some hot shooting scoring eight points in the fourth quarter compared to Ellis’ four points for a final score Trego 17 to Ellis 13.

 

Leading scorer for Ellis was Payten Burd with six points, Avery Boydston had three and Raegan Jiminez and Jocelyn Eck each had two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Gracelynn Hamel with 18 boards.  Boydston had six, Burd and Eck each had four and Jiminez had one.  Ellis out-rebounded Trego 33 to 23 total boards.

 

In the J.V. contest, Trego led by two at the half with a one-point lead at the end of the third quarter.  The final quarter continued to be a battle with Trego squeaking by with a one-point win, Trego 12 to Ellis 11.

 

Leading scorer for Ellis was Taylor Kohl with six points followed by Sienna Schmidt with four and Jersee Fabrizius had one point.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Kia Mader with seven, Kohl and Fabrizius each had four and Schmidt and Eck each had three.

 

The Ellis Jr. High girls’ basketball team also traveled west to Oakley to take on the Plainsmen.  Oakley came out strong and put an eleven-point spread by the end of the first half.  Ellis kept Oakley scoreless in the third quarter but was only able to add three to their score to make up for the first half deficit.  Oakley added another eight points in the last quarter compared to Ellis’ two.  Final score was Oakley 26 to Ellis 12.

 

Leading scorer for Ellis was Avery Boydston with seven points.  Payten Burd had three points and Taylor Kohl had two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Gracelynn Hamel with nine.  Boydston and Jocelyn Eck each had four followed by Burd with three and Raegan Jiminez had two.

 

In the J.V. contest Ellis was behind by two at the half.  In the third quarter Oakley increased their lead to three points.  In the fourth quarter, Ellis was only able to add another two points compared to Oakley’s additional four.  Final score was Oakley 12 to Ellis 7.

 

Leading scorer for Ellis was Jersee Fabrizius with four points.  Kohl had two and Sienna Schmidt had one point.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Kia Mader with six followed by Fabrizius with four.  Piper McClung had two and Schmidt and Kohl each had one.
