JH Girls Basketball Results - Norton & Smith Center

The EJH girls basketball hosted the Norton Bluejays on Dec. 11, 2023 for their last home game of the season.

In the first quarter of the varsity contest, Ellis trailed Norton by four points but Norton pushed ahead in the second quarter leading at the half 26-8.  Ellis continued to struggle to get any shots to fall and lost the contest 49-13.

Scoring for Ellis included Adalynn Hamel with five points followed by Taryn Boydston with four.  Lila Richards and Mackinley Rhoden each had two points.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Rhoden with four, Hamel and Richards each with three and Rylan Aschenbrenner had two boards.

In the J.V. contest, of which two quarters were played, it was tied after the first quarter 6-6.  Norton built on their lead beating Ellis 15-8.  Hamel, Richards, Aschenbrenner and Boydston had two points each.  Richards lead in rebounding with five.  Hamel had three boards and Rhoden had two.  Nora Andrews, Aschenbrenner, Boydston and Maddison Rummel each had one rebound.


The Ellis Jr. High girls basketball team traveled to Smith Center to pay their final game this season.

Ellis struggled to deal with Smith Center’s well run full-court press.  Smith Center lead at the half 30-11.  Smith Center went on to win the game 40-15.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Rylan Aschenbrenner with eight points and Taryn Boydston had vie.  Haylee Comer ended up with two points.  Comer lead in rebounding with 11 boards.  Lyla Richards had four rebounds followed by Adalynn Hamel with three.  Mackinley Rhoden and Aschenbrenner each had two boards and Boydston had one.

In the J.V. contest, two quarters were played.  Smith Center dominated the contest winning 25-4.  Hamel and Boydston each had two points.  Maggie Downing led in rebounds with five.  Maddison Rummel had two boards.  Aschenbrenner and Rhoden each had one rebound.
